They've had various other members come and go over the years, but currently Tuomas Holopainen and Emppu Vuorinen are the only original members remaining. Merry Christmas from Nightwish Nightwish is a symphonic metal, power metal, folk metal, and gothic metal band formed in Kitee, Finland, in 1996, by Tuomas Holopainen, (keyboards, piano, and synthisizers, and also male vocals until 1998), Emppu Vuorinen, (lead guitar, and also bass guitar but only in 1997), and Tarja Turunen, (lead vocals).
